Hi all, some might remember in my introduction I mentioned that my two month chick has canker since 20 February. Day five and I finally got copper sulphate as recommended on this group where I found mixing instructions, however, I am sceptical about how to administer the drink.

Should I just pour the mix into the 1L drinker or does it need to be further diluted or syringe?

The quantities I used as follows:
5L tap water, 1g copper sulphate, 3ml brown spirit vinagar (I don't have apple cider vinagar on hand (as directed))

Further info about chick:
Breed: Japanese bantam cross (potch koekoek and other bantam breed)
Days since first sign of symptoms: 5
Symptoms: yellow legions on tongue and throat, smelly breath, swollen glands, sneezing.
Weight: 121g
Droppings: inconsistent, I found strange gel like secretion, not sure if oral or feacal; it was yellowish caramel in colour.
Behavior: still fairly active eager to eat, albeit with some difficulty, haven't observed drinking on its own. Similar size and weight to her sibling who has no symptoms.

Other meds to date, only iodene in water and minced garlic mixed with wet mash.

I will appreciate guidence on correct dosage of mixed solution as I believe copper sulphate can be toxic in high doses, and any other helpful advice is welcomed to help my little fowl to a speedy recovery. Amein!

Do you have acidified copper sulfate or just copper sulfate? Dosage of acidified copper sulfate is 1/4 teaspoonful per gallon of water. No need to further dilute it nor add vinegar unless it is plain copper sulfate. It should not be used in metal waterers. Do not mix anything else in the water. If you have any pictures of the canker inside the beak it would be helpful. Is there a bad odor from the beak?

Thanks, yes it's normal copper sulphate and plastic waterer. I've struggled to take pictures as she goes frantic when opening beak, I did catch it on video but need to get a different editor as format not supported.
And yeah, sme
