Please don't think I'm dumb for asking this...

Do roasters have anything to do with egg color?
Roosters not directly. As in father mother egg you are looking at.

However, as an example. if you have a blue egg layer hen and the roosters breed normally would have a brown shell. Their offspring wont lay blue eggs. Youll get some shade of green.
 
Roosters pass on their egg coloring genes to the next generation, but they won't change a current hens egg color.

For breeding forward looking at future offsprings possible egg colors that they will lay, the genes the rooster carries are very important...
