Please explain: Tractor Supply Company's Math

This is true................ your paying for ease of use, Americans love being lazy and the chinese manufactures know this LOL. All of your larger waterers are quite a bit higher in $$. I keep many of both large & small waterers for changing out when the situation warrents it.

My chickens drink a lot. I have the one gallon drinkers plus a bucket or pan besides and I fill them daily except during summer, then its twice a day. I did buy some three gallon waterers but they don't dispense the water properly, even when I made the openings bigger. I hate the galvanized ones, and I heard galvanized plus water isn't healthy.

I have had chickens for many years.
I am sick of giving money to manufacturers that make a cheap product and label it for chickens.
I personally have found plastic bowls, metal bowls, small cat litter boxes, gallon milk jugs cut out for drinking to help Americans stay in business and it still waters my chickens. I have more than 40 water containers if you count all the brooders.
The chicken water containers keep falling apart on me after about a year and are costly to replace when I can purchase other things to use to water my birds and they last longer or keep my money going back into American products.
I buy local milk and use those gallons for water storage and carrying to the pens. I cut out holes for certain sized birds

Keep money in America, buy American products and come up with your own ways to water your birds. Shop around, you would be surprised at what you can find.

I'm with the others it has to do with convenience.

I will say I will not by any thing from TSC (way over priced) for example
I use Khul fountains/waters (which IMO is much better than little giant) and I get 12 - 1 gallon fountains/waters for $33.50 ($2.79 each) and 6 - 3 gallon fountains/waters for $59.40 ($9.90 each).
Now I will admit this is wholesale prices but the guy that I get them off of can nearly double his money when he sells to the public and he is still cheaper than TSC.

I also find myself using more open bowls and containers to water with, I find it to have the best of all worlds. They are often very inexpensive, easy to use & fill last forever, easy to clean and easier for the birds, win win if you ask me.
