If she was my friend and I agreed to take care of her dog. I would take care of the dog the best that I could until my friend passed. Then I would put the dog down and cremate if I knew he was in so much pain. Then owner and dog. Who both loved each other dearly would be together forever. Maybe you could talk it over with her immediate family. The ones that would be in charge of her funeral arrangments. That way, taking the dogs asses there wouldnt be such a surprise.

I dont know. I think that is how I would do it. No matter what it is a great loss to loose a close friend and have to make that kind of dission..

Please dont put the dog down until she passes....
if she asked to see the dog before she passes..and you cant do that, it would be very cruel for her to die knowing that you didnt keep the dog like she asked you too...
Just please wait until she goes...

I just wanted to update everyone, the dog was euthanized. She was in heart failure, and couldn't keep down food.

I am sure it has been hard to watch your friend and the poor dog suffer.
May they both be reunited at the rainbow bridge.

I am really relieved to hear that the dog had to be PTS and it was an issue that was clear cut. I hope that you take care of yourself as this is still very hard for you. My prayers are with you.
