Please give me your votes for BO replacement

They do seem huge! Good lookin', though. Lots of feathers..but the heat doesn't bother them? It runs 90-100s pretty consistantly here in the summers.

I have Buff Brahmas and I love them! They're gorgeous, and pretty friendly. I live near Salt Lake City, so it gets pretty hot here too but not as hot as NM I don't think. My chickens do very well in the heat; I just make sure they have shade and water.

The brahmas have a habit, not sure if other chickens do this or not. During the dog days of summer they lay around in the shade during the hottest part of the day and do all their foraging in the early morning and evening.

yeah, that seems about right. I don't mind though, I like to sit in the shade too!

or lay out in the sun and attempt to get a tan!

Ideal has them in the dark, lights and buffs standards.
My lights are the friendliest. My darks are closest to the breed standard. My favorite hen is a buff, but her sisters are all a little shy. All mine came from Ideal.
ETA: In the summertime you can order less than 25. Ideal doesn't have a chick minimum, only a dollar amount min. If it's good and warm you can instruct them to not include packing peanuts (males). You just have to pay a small shipping insurance charge instead - a couple of bucks.
