My silkie is just about 13 weeks old . Recently , we found grubs in our garden bed and was told via Reddit the chickens love it . I mixed in diatomaceous earth in their regular food so they can deworm whatever they ate free ranging that day . Her stool has been bloody and I’m wondering if it’s from the fat grubs she’s been eating or a health concern . She is vaccinated for mareks and coccidiosis . She has been pooping like this intermittently the past day . She is acting her normal self . Below are pictures of her stool . Thank you for much for your help . Dixie is my white
Silkie

Are the grubs dead? Are they biting her....inside? I know this can be a concern in the reptile world when feeding super worms since they are pretty large. It is recommended to chop off the head so they don't risk biting.

Just a thought.
That’s a good suggestion . Sigh . I definitely gave her the worms live ..

It's probably the DE causing micro-abrasians in her GI tract. It's really not a good thing for a bird to be eating any significant amount of.

It's fine as an environmental, and small amounts ingested while geooming are generally fine, but it isn't something I'd ever mix in food. It's *sharp* even though it is super tiny.

The grubs should be just fine as a treat.
