Please Help An Idiot Out [My chicken run is a D.I.S.A.S.T.E.R (and my husband hates it)]

First of all let me say Thank you to your husband for his dedication and service to our country. I too am a Vet and know the hardships your family goes thru while he is away for deployments. I was enlisted and not commissioned but don't think it matters. I have heard that a most officers are a pain so you could call him Major Pain

FYI, your coop and run look great. Use most or all the ideas that have been posted on here and you and your coop will be fine.

Salute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll tell him you all said so.

The problem isn't that he won't get his hands dirty, it's that he's so seldom at home [since he keeps his hands dirty at work 18 hours a day, and when he's home he's in his office working] I sometimes forget that these are still "team" efforts. After all of the deployments and exercises and TADs, I've learned to think quite singularly in my train of chicken thought, sadly DHs opinion in the matter rarely comes into play because I completely forget about him sometimes...

I think we're going to get some of the bigger fence posts and borrow our neighbors post digger [or whatever that machine is called] Once the posts are in the ground it's really going to sturdy this fence up some. I'll reuse the 2x2x8 to reinforce the fence line and then brace at the corners with a smaller post. I'm going to spring and get the good, heavy duty chicken wire too, not just the trellis netting that I'm using now.

Here's a picture of my idea...it includes window boxes for a chicken garden to help camo up the fence...

Well, we can't have any babies, so I figured I'd just get more chickens...that's reasonable, right? *says the crazy chicken lady*

Good compromise. We used to call the Majors seagulls. They fly in, Crap all over everything and fly off...
