Please HELP! Animal attack/Injured chick

thank you, clean it with saline or hydrogen peroxide?
Betadine is best if you can get your hands on it. Hydrogen peroxide is okay but can prohibit healing in the long run. I would clean it daily with betadine and warm water and flush the skin pockets out with saline.

I had a very similar injury from a raccoon on a hen before and she healed marvelously. Keep the feathers off the wound as best you can and keep it moist with the ointment you’re already using or some raw honey. This is not a deep wound, there are no punctures, so I expect she will much quicker than you think. No need for antibiotics at this point.

I had a young duck manage to skin it's neck and top of it's head to the muscle. It got stuck in a chicken wire fence, which is why I no longer use chicken wire. Kept it washed and covered with antibiotic and the skin grew back like nothing ever happened. It just looked bad for a while.

(edit: I'm not saying chicken wire is bad. I'm saying I have some pretty stupid ducks)

I dont have betadine i can try ordering it online. On had for now I have: bluecoat, sailine soulition, epsopm salts, rubbing alchohol, and hydrogen peroxide and topical antibiotic ointment. I am wondering id they hydrogen peroxide or saline is best to rinse the wound. Then I can pput on ointment after and bandage

thanks for all the help, I am waiting on a friend to come over and help me hold her while I clean her up and bandage her really well.

Still, I believe that I see some muscle so you need to wash the wound and out some antibiotic cream like Neosporin and wrap it with some vet wrap.
Thank you! Isnt it better to use non adhesive bandages because of all her feathers? I heard vet wrap is too sticky for feathers and better for feet. is there something else I can use like gauze and a bandage?

Betadine is sold at any local drugstore. Really you could just use soap and water, but if you must then hydrogen peroxide that is thoroughly flushed out afterwards will do for an initial cleaning. I wouldn’t use it for daily cleanings.

Vetwrap only sticks to itself, hence why it is used for animals with a lot more hair than us. :) Flush the wound out, cover it with ointment or honey, cover with gauze, and wrap a nonstick bandage around her body.
