Please help - Approx 6 month Hen off her legs with curled toes

With curled toes you can also make him a boot, this will help straighten out those toes. There's a link on ways to make this boot, this would be helpful to get your chicken to stand on his toes and use them, to get them to straighten out.. Some people use Bandaids, some use pieces of cardboard and I've seen some use Foil. I pesonally have used vetwrap. this is very helpful for those that refuse or can't walk...

Here's a link scroll down towards the bottom about the Boot, there's different ways to make one just use the best one for your chicken. Object it to get your chicken on his feet, that is if he's unable to walk, until the vitamin B can kick in and help with the recovery...

Thank you very much! Yes my tablet just turned the water yellow too!! Might have to crush it next time as I think I disolved the coating mainly haha! I have just had to have her in the house to blow dry her - poor little girl has been out in the pouring rain today even though she could have gone in she sat out in the rain :-( It's so difficult - I want to keep her away from the cockerel, but that means putting her in a cage where she would get wet if it rained and also wouldn't get about to strengthen her legs and feet up. I can't put her out on her own in the garden as it is too dangerous when I am at work, and the other chicken house with run we have is taken up by cockerel number two who hates cockerel number 1 so they have to be kept separately!! Aargh!! I will have to have a look at making a boot! Thank you!

I put mine in the garden which is separated from the yard by a wall. The other chickens can still get in but it's a bit separate and there are shrubs for her to go under... at the moment though I am keeping her inside so that I can be sure that she is taking the vitamin B and only the vitamin B. Thanks for the tip on the St. John's wort by the way user who posted that ( I can't see your name because it's on the last page and I'm sorry but I just can't remember it at the moment)...I don't suppose there is an easy way to dilute your own of whatever it is called. Would it be worth buying? Oh and I second the thanks for the boot!
My tablet wouldn't fully dissolve so we just gave her some of the water that contained it. It looks like a weak orange squash but I reckon that it tastes horrible...

That's quite alright! Thank you everyone for your help! Shocking weather here again today so I have put her in a little cage inside the main run so she shouldn't get wet! Don't want to undo all my marvellous blowdrying! I rubbed the tablet between my fingers whilst in the water which seemed to help disolve it. However I left it overnight and it had completely disolved this morning so maybe give that a try?? We have foxes round our way - sometimes they stand outside the garden shed at night plain as day! The security light comes on but doesn't deter him! Luckily so far they have not shown much interest in the chickens - not since the first time he chewed the coop to try and get in without success! Damaged my new coop quite a bit and ripped the window door off!! Anyway I darent chance leaving her in the garden all day. But I can put her out at the weekends when I am home. I try not to go in the pen too often as our cockerel appears to hate me even though I'm the one that feeds the little blighter! I now only go in there bearing broom!!!!

First try putting a radio out there, seems to help a little with keeping the critters away, exspecially my favorite enemy the Raccoon.

Second, I have a mean rooster as well, what I have been doing is you pull on his waddles. YEH, you can't negotate with them, but tugging on the waddles put you in CHARGE. Thats the only way I found out that works, it takes a few tries before your rooster will get the hint and make him think : "if I peck at her, she's going to tug on me, hell NO". My mean rooster's will now look away when I'm near instead of pecking at me.
