Please help - Approx 6 month Hen off her legs with curled toes

I upped the dosage for a few reasons - firstly I don't believe anyone responded when I asked how many tablets to give her so I had no idea - I know the other member giving vit B to Bump was using one tablet - his chicken was not showing much sign of recovery either so I thought maybe we were giving too little. Also as I said above most of the tablet gets stuck to the bottom of the drinker so I don't think she is actually consuming very much, and also I am sure someone said on here it would take about a week and it has been best part of 2 already now so I also thought maybe I wasn't giving her enough due to this. I am disolving 3 in a much bigger quantity of water than I was 1 tablet. She's been on oyster shell / grit for a long while now as have the others. Not sure who is laying the pale eggs - think we have a reject Marans! Can't describe what's going on as we have no idea!! She stands with toes straight, when u pick her up she stretches them out straight - when u put your finger under her foot she grips it likes she's perching but she just can't walk properly! It must have been over 2 months now so I get the impression she will never be right. She gets herself up the stairs at night but she never tries to come out in the morning - maybe she knows I am going to lift her out the nesting box! She was perched on the coop moving handle the other day so she can get about pretty well! I will try and get some photos of her trying to walk if it helps!

But you think she will come good?? Is there anything else I can give her to help or just the vit B? Ok I will go back to 1 tablet Thank you. Is vit B the same as the polyvisol people were mentioning? Thanks again, Pam
 
I would be making her a boot, wether it works or not it may help. She's a little worst then what I had picture. Those toes need to be laying flat, is she a Maran? just courious. Definitely some sort of deformity, I think I would try to get her some vet wrap, wrap each toe so that they are straight maybe even get some popsicle sticks to help them go flat or place the vet wrapped toes on a flat carbboard. and see if it can correct itself. It will take several months before it does but then again, She maybe to old and this may have been going on for to long to correct itself. If you prefer not to make her a boot then all's I can say as long as they are not bothering her or she's not in any kind of pain, you can just leave her a lone. As long as she can get around, might want to watch her toes nails, if she can't scratch and keep them trimmed you may have to trim them...

you may want to try and make a place for her to rooster to where she is forced to curl her toes to keep her balance when roosting...

Personally, I would some how or another work on a boot to get those toes completely flat...

It's going to take several months before you can get those toes to correct itself..

Yes she's a Marans. She wasn't always like this just incase you thought she was. She was fine in the morning and then like this in the afternoon! What is vet wrap please? And popsicle sticks?! Can I get these in the UK? She does get about, but I think she only eats if I take the food to her. Perhaps this is because she is intimidated by the others. She doesn't roost, she sleeps in the nesting box currently. Actually a few of our hens pile into the nesting boxes! She doesn't appear to be in any pain. I will look into the boot and other things you mention Thank you!
 
She's...ok. One of the hens and the turkey managed to get in with her the other day and now she has no feathers and big bruise on the top of her head. ( she has feathers everywhere else)...

Congrats!!! I am battling this same thing with a pullet of mine. she can walk a lot of the time now but because she prefers to be laying down, she is always having to fight off the males, who see it as a "come hither" pose.

any ideas (besides segregating her) to get them to leave her alone?

I actually sent in a blood sample to Texas A&M and it isn't Marek's.
