Please help, are my babies sick?

Help! I am new to Backyard Chickens and to being a chicken mom! We bought 7 chickens from our local TSC the beginning of March. The original flock are around 3 months old. About a month ago, my husband went to a local chicken exchange sale, and bought two more girls. We isolated the two newcomers for the recommended 2 weeks. It has been over a week since the new ones have been introduced and have been living with the rest of the flock, all seem to be just fine, healthy and all are beginning to get along.

However, two of my "original" flock chickens, Charlotte, my large, fluffy Brahma, and Oreo, our Bantam Rooster seem to have developed a "cold." They appear fine, eating, running around, doing their free range thing and look healthy, however, their breathing sounds like they have a cold. I've just noticed this for the past 2 -3 days, none of my other chickens so far sound this way, but I worry that they could be getting sick. We live in VA, and our spring weather has been CrAZy!! One week its 90, the next week its 70!!! The girls have now been living outside exclusively since the beginning of May, and we have used a heat lamp on nights the temps get into the 40's. We are new to this whole chicken farming experience, BUT we LOVE, LOVE our babies, so any suggestions, offers of help, etc.. would be greatly appreciated!

Hi you can treat with tylan50 for respiratory symptoms. Sadly chickens don't get colds they get respiratory diseases.a couple months ago my flock had some sneezing and coughing. I treated with tylan50 and they got better very fast thank God! Dose for tylan is large birds 1/4cc small birds 1/2 cc given once daily in the breast muscle for 5 days. You can find the tylan at the feed store with syringes. It worked successfully for my birds and many choose tylan for respiratory illness. I would watch them closely and if they begin coughing or have mucus present I would treat them with the tylan. Hope this helps and hope your birds feel better very soon!
