PLEASE HELP ASAP!! CHICKEN IN PAIN WITH RED BALL

no not at all, she was doing great yesterday, it all happened this morning and yes she is! and i tried to do what the tutorial asked me to but she just pushes it out further, we might have to euthanize her :(
I would suggest that you try and go on your tube and watch chicken landidas Video on how she helped a chicken with prolapsed vent and try and gather some info so you know 100% what you’re doing.
Is the hen lethargic in any way?

Well that’s not good, I’m hoping that our activity on this thread will make people go into this thread.
I would stop trying to put it back in for now and give her a little rest, it can be quite stressful and painful for her. Have you watched some tutorials ir videos where you can see what people do? Also you could try searching on here to look at old threads about prolapsed vent, looking at old Threads has helped me a lot when there wasn’t a lot of activity on my own thread😊

yeah i hope so too, and i tried to do exactly what people on the video did but she just pushes it back out :( i tried looking at older threads but none has helped, shes in a lot of pain but i also dont want to euthanize her on my own

Poor girl, that looks like a really bad prolapse
Do you have anything like vaseline? You want to keep the exposed tissue clean and moist, keep her away from other birds.
Keep her warm. When did she lay the egg? Was it before or after the prolapse?

@azygous @Wyorp Rock @casportpony
yeah it is :( i feel so bad for her shes such a sweet girl, i put a blanket on her and also moistened it with vasaline, and the egg was after

Some severe prolapses do need vets, as sometimes they require a stitch to hold it in. And hormones to stop laying while they heal.
That said, there may be things that you can try, so I'd wait to hear other opinions before making the decision :hugs

I’m so sorry to hear, the hen is a fighter, do you have any raw honey. If you do you could try and push it back in, put some honey on it and hold it for as long as you can.
Honey makes the inflammation go down wich will make the vent more likely to stay in. If she makes it to tomorrow contact the vet. Sometimes the prolapse is to severe to treat at home.
Is she able to poop?

yeah i figured, i pushed it back in again and held it there, she pushed it out again so i just put her back in the box with a blanket, shes very tired so i’ll let her rest :hugs
