You did all you could to help her, sometimes when they prolapse like that with an egg, they can't be saved no matter what you do.

Thank you and yes it sucks but we’re driving there now, giving her lots of kisses and pets. I hope she knows how much we loved her

I've not dealt with a prolapsed chicken, but i know in other livestock like sheep and pigs, they sometimes do a stitch to hold it in until it calms down. Sound like you need vet services.

it became a lot bigger, i put her in a warm bath to help the muscles relax but im so unaware at what to do!! no vet is open either

This thread is almost 10 days old and it would be good if you read the posts. The OP did take the hen to the vet and she was humanely put down.

FWIW - if you read the thread, what you see is a Prolapsed vent, not a hernia. Sometimes this can be treated successfully and the hen will be o.k. Other times putting them down is the best thing to do. Each needs to be accessed and treated accordingly.

I have had two hens that had a prolapsed vent and i used preparation H with a Qtip and put it back in place and held it for 5 minutes and then let her rest!!

i woke up this morning to feed the chickens and ducks when i noticed one of my chickens was standing in a corner not moving anything only her behind, when i checked i noticed a big red ball TW for the pictures they’re very graphic
