Please help. Breast bone in 4 week old chicks

She was interesting to say the least, but I would not want to go to her apartment. I also pet sat her 25 rats in a small bird cage and her 3 cats. One was hairless. there were some many rats they smelled awful and the cats did not want to use the box. When she dropped them off she told me to put newspaper around the box in case the don't go in it. So I'm guessing they did it on a regular basis.

That is probably one of the most amusing things I've ever heard. Are you a pet sitter then? If so I bet that's one of the most interesting calls you've ever gotten... "I'm going away for the weekend but I need someone to watch my pets." "Okay, what do you have, Ma'am?" "25 rats, 3 cats that don't use the litter box and a chicken." 0.o

Might hens all have access to food 24/7 plus scratch and they free range most of them feel the same way skinny. They are egg layers that where most of the nutrients go is into egg production. I'm sure their fine. If you want big breasted birds maybe some of the larger breeds will be better for you my meat bird are all plump ....lol

Yeah I do pet sitting from time to time. I get a fair amount of exotics but that was my first chicken. I really don't like watching cats mitch, but the chicken was fun.

My chick's are just about 4 weeks now and have organic chick starter. I added a dog bowl so they have more feed, which my barred rock dust bathes in the food now. From what I can find out I guess it's normal for them to be skinny at this time. These will be layers and be free range during the day cooped at night with 24/7 access to feed if they want it. They will also get kitchen scraps.
