Please Help! - Chicken eating dirt

My 9 month old silkie hen is always let out and she eats the dirt. Is it good for her? Should I put her somewhere where there is no dirt?

It is eating dirt to get sand and pebbles for its gizzard so it can digest its food let it eat the dirt.

Chickens require dirt, grit, pebbles in order to properly digest food. It is stored in the gizzard and is used to grind food.
