Please help! Chicken emergency!

Today I was collecting the eggs, and I noticed that one of my polish chickens was limping. I picked her up and I noticed that one of her toes was hanging by a thread from her foot! My father helped me gently remove it and we put some "blue coat" on her foot, which is a disinfectant made for animals. As I was taking a closer look, I noticed all of her toes are not able to move and they were kind of "crusted". However, the rest of her foot was very swollen. I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me figure out what caused this, or how I can help it.

I agree with sylviethecochin it would help with a picture, make sure she doesn't have any bumble foot I just had to deal with a case this week of bumblefoot. She might be stunned from the injury.
