its a rooster you can see the saddle and hackle feathers pretty good in the last photo but for breed idk looks to be mixed though maybe a brahama or cochrin mix

Thank you for the replies so far, but what I don't understand is why Fatso's only crowed twice in over a week. Wouldn't he be doing it every day especially as there is another cockerel whose dulcet tones we can hear! Fatso's about 7 months old.

he's young. He may start to crow more...or he may just be a quite roo...in which case, you should breed him and sell us all eggs

kari_Dawn - As much as I love the "rustic" almost ugly look Fatso has I'm not sure what him crossed with our exchequer leghorn would look like, probably best if his attentions are focused on the Goldlines! But if he stays quiet and there is small fluffy things you're quite welcome to some offspring!
