They are really cute!

It still amazes me ... how a little tiny ball of fuzz turns into a big ol' bag of feathers! LOL And the color changes ... magical almost!

I think it is amazing. Even more so for the chicks that you don't know what breed they are, like the store bought. It has just been a joy to go out of a morning and admire how much they have grown and try to imagin how Glen & Rose will end up looking like.

I agree. I love the unexpected! I have a beautiful mutt rooster that I would love to reproduce, but I don't know what combination he is! LOL

well I guess there is an anwser to that. your just going to have to hatch out all the eggs you set eyes on and then you will probably get one just like him.

I got a new camera as it is my birthday today so I have some real pictures of the chookens.

WHat do you think?

LOVE it! Those are some pretty birds you hatched! That must be a great camera, as the photo quality is excellent!

ETA: The lavender is the mamma, pearl the pappa and you can see how much fun the chicks are having scratching all the saw dust out of the brooder

sorry it's a bit blurry but the only way that I could keep them still was to feed them so they were pecking.

Nice! Oohhhh, I had to giggle ... I have (honestly) never seen guineas before! Isn't that just crazy .... I need to look around a bit more! So, do they act just like chickens? Oh wait, I think I have heard that they are noisy .... like a watch dog, when anything comes near. Is that right?

They are not very domesticated and are a bit wild. They are noisy but we have gotten used to it. they are something that people either love or hate. we have both types in our family. The silkie x photos have nearly loaded.
