Looks like an unabsorbed yolk sac that was pecked and attacked by other chickens, causing the blood. Hatched under a broody in guessing because of the wood chip? If so was the mom the only adult bird in the coop or were other chickens around? If mom did it watch the other chicks close.View attachment 2486666 Is there something I can do for this?

I have done just that. Thank you for your help!Separate the chick from the others, maybe one nice friend who doesn't peck but doubt you will find one. Keep it away from all the others and let that alone. It will dry up and fall off on its own. I have had this same thing happen within a week to two weeks it will fall off.

Perfect job. It will fall off. on it's own in a few days now, and then you can put it back in with the other one. I don't see any wounds, which is great.Thank you for replying to the post and yes you are correct. The chick was in a brooder with one other chick. I have cleaned and dried the are. I have also isolated her. View attachment 2487334View attachment 2487335View attachment 2487337
