Please help! Duck with severely injured toe!

Please help! I don’t know how this happened and I feel awful! My pekin duck Bob had a cut on the bottom of his foot. I noticed it and started treating it with blukote just 3 days ago. It was looking much better and he began putting more weight on it. Before trying blukote I had tried Vetricin and Banixx nothing seemed to be working. The blukote appeared to be working. It looked ok and I just checked it and his whole toe is falling off! I’m just frantic I don’t know how this happened. Please help! Should I cut off the toe? I don’t know what to do. The foot is not purple that is just where I sprayed it.

The rest of his foot is still ok all except that toe! He is still walking and eating and everything. Would he survive without one toe? I’m worried sick please help!

It is the last toe on the right side and I noticed it started to feel hard about a day ago.The rest of his foot is still soft and it looks to be fine. He is only 6 months old

Do you think it will fall off on its own? I’m just so worried it didn’t look like this even this morning. He came out of the house and ate and acted fine other than a limp. It is completely severed through and it feels hard.

Is it a good idea to put Neosporin or something of that type on his foot? Should I isolate him away from the other ducks or would that stress him out more?

I isolated him and he is eating normally and standing with some pressure on the foot. He is acting ok and pooping normally too. I really hope he makes it through this. I’m just worried about him not being able to walk since he’s a jumbo pekin and has a lot of weight.

It seems like it is just from the middle toe to the end. The middle toe is not hard and everything on the other side from the middle toe is still soft. It seems to have almost dried up from there to the toe with the cut. It does not feel hot and he is acting ok.

Put gauze on it and VetWrap. It should heal up soon. Good luck!
