I brought my 2 month old Millie fleur inside yesterday when I noticed she could hardly hold herself up. I’m pipet feeding her water with electrolytes and now tylan. She seemed fine for a while yesterday (moving, drinking, and eating) now she’s dying. One eye closed up, cannot move except to gasp for air. Any ideas what this could be or how to quickly save her?

Your video says it is no longer available. I would give her electrolytes with vitamins orally—Poultry NutriDrench is good a couple of drops orally. Offer some cooked egg and very wet chick feed up to her beak. Dehydration might be a possibility or being kept from food and water by others. Coccidiosis can be a problem at this age, and that is treated with Corid from the feed store. Look into her beak for any mucus, cankers or sores. Is her eye draining or do it have bubbles?

Originally i thought it was dehydration which is why she's been inside since yesterday. The flock she arrived with has previously been treated with corid for coccidiosis and to my understanding, she shouldn't get that again. I will try the nutriDrench, though I put that in her water yesterday. I don't see any abnormalities in her mouth and I swabbed it to look for grape worm. Her eye is sealed shut and has a little mucus on it. She looks like she's gasping for air every now and then, but there is no sound.

They can get coccidiosis again until they have developed a tolerance for the coccidia organism usually between 11-20 weeks. There also is a risk of enteritis after having coccidiosis. Does she have any blood or runny mucus in her droppings? It sounds like she may have a respiratory disease with a swollen eye and drainage. I would clean the eye twice a day with saline, and apply some antibiotic ointment. To get it open use a warm wet compress for a few minutes. Does she sneeze? The gasping is also a sign. You might want to get some Tylan Powder from your local vet, or call some feed stores to see if they have Tylan 50 injectable available. I can give dosages when you need them. Those will treat mycoplasma (MG.) You can get tylosin, the generic online here if you don’t mind waiting:

Thank you very much for the response and information. Unfortunately, she passed in the middle of the night last night after we thought we had made some progress. She had put up a good fight though.
