Please help, emergency duck injury!

The moment of truth arrives. I bought the spray and I'm going to head out there right now to try and get some over her head. Then when she goes in for the night we'll be putting a tube down. That way we can be sure she is getting all the medicine instead of just drooling it out. Cross your fingers anyone who's around.

good luck!

Thank you. I have to admit it was easier for me to tube feed my duck than its ever been for me to do the chickens. She did extremely well. Got about 60ml in.

We tube fed again this morning. Now we know she has two full doses of antibiotics. No more holding it just to spit it all out. I heard some good news. She is drinking a whole lot today which is a major improvement. The eyes are still swollen, but staying open and I'm thinking the vetericyn was a good buy.

She is almost 100%. Still tubing in the meds with a little food, but she's eating and drinking. She's also keeping up with her mate very well and they're both able to feed more. I think I found the predator. We have a skunk. We went to give the duck her mix at sundown and all of a sudden the air filled with skunk musk. It got our German Shepherd not far from us so its living relatively close to the coop.

My 12 yr old drake was chomped on his bill badly a few months ago. I wrapped a towel around him to give him antibiotics twice a day for 14 days. He did not want to eat anything. I even bought a blender and blended him up some worms (gag if that ain't love , I don't know what is) Canned corn saved the day and was all he would eat for a few weeks. Then I had to wean him off it but he is completely healed up. He still comes in at night as I am still concerned about a raccoon family in the area and need to reinforce his run before either of us will really feel safe enough to stay outside. He's a tough old guy but quacks to come inside and just stands there waiting for me to pick him up. So spoiled but gawd I love that poopy old man lol .Good luck to you. Accckkkk a skunk!!! Likely a family of skunks :/

I'm glad your drake is doing better. I'm not sure how I would handle a family of skunks. I had a plan for one but if there's more ...I need a plan b haha. It's been 12 hours and the yard still stinks.
