Please help! Eye "gooped" shut!!!

Oh and she didn't cut her foot, it was just swollen at the hock and she limped for quite a while. I know this is my fault... I really don't know anything about chickens and all that I have read still doesn't feel like I know how to raise chickens... The duramycin is what I was told to give them and other owners around here haven't had this kind of problem so I think it could be a variety of reasons on top if my ignorance

There's been no swelling or scabs. This chicken above was named Frenchie, and she got wry neck about 6 days ago and we lost her 3 days ago. I tried the vitamins and a treatment plan I found online but it didn't work this time. Also I have another sleepy chicken but I just checked and no mites... What else can that be? They make so much mess with their food in the morning, the next morning there's mold growing on the ground. How do I stop that?

Sorry for your loss. Mycoplasma synoviae can cause swelling of the joints, as well as respiratory symptoms such as a goopy eye. Without testing, many diseases can look alike. I would get a necropsy on the next one that dies if you lose one--the state vet can do this for a small fee, and some states are free. It's pretty hard to keep mold completely away when there is spilled food, but try to keep your feeders in where it is dry. With young pullets like yours, you may have lost some to coccidiosis along the way. The symptoms are lethargy, standing around hunching or puffed up, diarrhea, weakness, and not eating. Sometimes they can have blood in the stools. Corid or amprollium is the treatment for that. Mareks disease should be considered also. Here are links to read about coccidiosis, MS, and Mareks:
