First peep to hatch.

Is the cord normally still attached like this? I am a beginner. This is an olive egger, day 21.

You can gently remove it as long as there are no veins still running through it. Those are they embryo wastes from throughout incubation. Cute chick, congrats!

Thank you. Any tips for knowing if they are veins? And that means I have to open the incubator, is that okay? This is the first of 19 eggs to hatch

Just and red lines going into the navel. Its fine, just go fast. Open the lid, take out baby and shell, close lid. Then you can take it off and then quickly put baby back.
