PLEASE HELP!!! Hen lethargic!!!!

Is her tail kind of droopy? Does she make weird hissy clucks? When Henny was egg bound, she was lethargic like you are describing, with the tail and hisses. I gave her a warmer bath than usual, not hot though, and the egg came out. I hope Butter gets better!

Here is the synopsis!!
A friend of our's came over to look at Butter. (Her name is Mrs. Gibson and she used to be a vet, though now grooms and boards dogs.) Mrs. Gibson looked in Butter's vent, looked in her mouth, checked her wings, thighs, feet, tail, and general vent area. Her eyes were clear, and nothing wrong outside. Mrs. Gibson said that she isn't egg bound because she felt in her vent, and there was no egg at all... Butter was swollen in that area either. She was really confused until I told her what they had been eating... I recently got my hens two little small dog balls. I put some peanut butter on them and let the hens peck away! When I told Mrs. Gibson that she nodded her head. "That's it." she said. Peanut butter isn't good for chickens. Most of them are allergic to that and peanuts in general. So that is probably Butter's case-- an allergic reaction to PB... SO-- this is a warning:
DO NOT GIVE YOUR CHICKENS PEANUT BUTTER!!! THEY COULD BE ALLERGIC TO IT!!
Thanks for all your guys' inputs!

That is interesting about the peanuts though honestly I'm a bit skeptical and I will see if there's more info to be found re that. I have never heard that before and my chickens eat peanuts quite often! They are in the seed mix I toss out to them in the mornings though there are not very many in there. But they pick them out and gobble them up.

Yea, she said that only some of an allergic reaction... So if you've already given them peanuts, peanut butter and stuff and they haven't reacted then I guess you're good. :)

Updated on Butter--
She's doing much better. Holding her tail up more, and talking to the hens more too!!! I can tell she's perkier, just a bit slow and she loves the gatorade! Hopefully, I'll be able to get some real electrolytes today...
