* Wendy, you can file it with an emery board. But, I'm wondering how much water she's taking in, too. Do you know?? Has she been constipated since eating the mash?? Usually that's fed wet like gruel to fledglings.

hello. d.k., i'm not sure exactly how much water shes taking in..i have her with my others....so..i cant tell..but.,..i have seen her at the water...its supposed to be fed wet?..

..i am an idiot!!...i took the mash out today..and put the crumbles back in the feeder...but...her crop feels awfully empty..and her keel is very sharp..so..what should i do now?..thanks so much, Wendy

there is a place at the back of the tongue..a little hole..
I think it's called the glottis..
(anyone please correct me if I'm wrong)..
this goes to the lungs..
that's why it's a bad idea to pour water or liquids down the throat..

thanks sammi...i have only dipped her beak in water...to try to break up the food in her beak...i bent her head down to the water..(i hope that was okay)...i can tell shes not right...she just lets me pick her up..no fight...or trying to run away...but..she does seem to want to eat..wendy

* O.k. Wendy, can you bring her in and set up a area for her, maybe in the tub?? Start dripping fluids with an eyedropper along the side of her beak. Let her swallow herself, if she will. We need to know if she's drinking for sure and what her poo looks like. Think you can do that?

d.k.,..thanks..i will set her up in her own place tonight.(now)..should i just put out the crumbles?..or should i try to feed her the boiled egg with wet mash?..and i'll try the dropper...and see how she takes it..thanks,wendy

* Make sure she's swallowing water first, Then I would go with the mash, but pretty wet, at least like oatmeal, o.k.?? Let us know if she drinks and eats-- Do you have any electrolytes, Poly-Vi-Sol, or meds available??

okay..i set her up in her own brooder...put her water bowl in there..and she did go and drink....so i didnt use the eye dropper...while i was up there she didnt go poop..so..i dont know what those look like...i also put crumbles in with her....she seems hungry...like she wants to eat..but is having a hard time..or something.....i noticed(again) when she went to grab a crumble..her beak closed on nothing..(no food)...but she kept trying....it is weird.. i am going to give her soft food again tonight...wet the crumbles and mix in the boiled egg..she ate that today...but,.. i did have to pull out of her mouth a glob of it that she was trying to swallow..she acted like she was choking...walking around in circles with head up and mouth open....it almost seems that the food isnt going down or something..like it is getting stuck in the throat OR coming back up on her and clogging her mouth??...i dont know...i dont want her to starve..but i dont want to choke her either......i'm going now to mix up her food..its all i can do tonight...thanks SO much everyone...Wendy
