I am now 7 weeks old and still notnsure what breed I am! Bought 4 from tractor supply and was told they were barnvelders at first but they then said they aren't sure what they are because they don't look like they are supposed. Definitely can tell they aren't barnevelders but not sure what they are.

I'm thinking Sapphire Gem since I also got 3 from TSC that were supposed to be Speckled Sussex lol.

Are they brown or gray? They're big enough to go outside now.
They are gray all the way, except for a little tiny white tip on the wings and the bottom of face/ neck is white. I do have them outside that one is just our favorite and most likely going to be the house chicken because she is the freindliest of them all.

That's funny because I bought 2 speckled syssex, they didn't doubt them being that breed. I have another post showing pics of them but they are very different looking from each other. 1 is growing to really look like a SS but the other idk lmao. I'll have to post pic tomorrow.

Her feathering looks so close to both the blue orpington and the sapphire gem. Could def be either thankyou

Just so you know, if you want to keep any type of bird inside, you need to buy a few hepa air filtering machines. Bird dander can cause something called bird keepers lung, a permanent respiratory issue like copd and an neurological problem that mimics a stroke.
It's not healthy for her or you to be inside.

My initial thought was chocolate orpington. But then you said her feathers are grey, not brown. So I'm going with probably a blue Orpington. Her feet look to be white, which is correct for an orpington. From search results, it seems sapphire gems have yellow skin so their feet tend to be yellow under the slate.

They look pretty similar to my Chocolate Orpington, but if they’re blue, they must be a blue Orpington. I had a ‘Wyandotte’ from cal ranch to that looks like a rose comb sapphire gem. 😒
