Someone please help me as to what is going on... I haven't been able to be out & about w/ my chickens lately so my hubby has been "taking care" of them for me. (Now that means he gives them food & water and thats that...) I was sitting out in my run just now & noticed one of my silkies eyes was like matted shut & has bubbly water in it. I am currently treating my flock for mites due to my inherited EE's & Black austrolorps (that will be re-homed tomorrow) with seven dust. What do I do about her eye?! && I don't think the seven dust is working... PLEASE HELP! She seems to be the only one out of my group w/ this eye problem if that helps...

I don't know. Maybe you should bring her to a veteranarian. But calm down and stop worrying. [IMG]

First thing I would do is wash it out, and look inside to see what's wrong. Silkies have so much fuzz on their face, could just be hair in their eye.
Warm water is fine for now

Yeah wash her eye with slighly warm water (don't burn her) then clip the feathers surrounding her eye and see if it improves.

I gave her a little bath when I brought her in earlier & rinsed it out the best I can, & then clipped her furry lil head as much as I could to keep it out of her eye... It's still really watery but she hasn't really been acting funny though... I called my aunt a little bit ago to see if she could get me in her office tomorrow morning & she said she would & will call me to tell me what time to bring her in. Finger's crossed maybe she just got some dirt in her eye or something. [IMG]
