Yes, but they are several years old and we raised them from 1 day old chicks. We thought one of our broody girls would be a warm companion but it was a no go. We are keeping this little one indoors for now because it’s too cold hereDo you have any other chickens?
You've done a great job. Do you have a heat lamp? She's a bit young to be off the heat. She's also huddled, which is a bad sign. I hope it's only that she's cold.Yes, but they are several years old and we raised them from 1 day old chicks. We thought one of our broody girls would be a warm companion but it was a no go. Yes, the enclosure we set up for her last night has a heat lamp but I have no clue how long she was alone before I found her. I found her pretty early in the morning yesterday and luckily had chicken food in the car and placed her in a box under an office lamp until I got off work. I took her out to take pictures.Poor bird.
I would say 2-3 weeks.
She looks cold. Do you have a heat source you can put her near?
She's likely to be a mix. I do believe it to be a girl, despite it being so early.
YesDo you have any other chickens?
She now has an enclosure with a heat lamp that I set up last night when I got her home. The poor thing seems to prefer being cuddled versus being alone in the enclosure She has eaten and drinks well but is thin. I hope she wasn’t alone too long before I found her. You've done a great job. Do you have a heat lamp? She's a bit young to be off the heat. She's also huddled, which is a bad sign. Has she eaten or drunk anything since you found her?
