Hi, This is Maude or maybe Moe. I can't seem to decide. One day she looks like a hen and the next a roo. She is 12 weeks old and a mix between a Buff Orp Rooster and a Laced Wyandotte Hen. Any guesses are greatly appreciated!
To those of you that think roo, other than the comb can you tell me why/what to look for? I have a lavender orp hen that actually hatched maude earlier this spring and everyone thought she was a roo last year based on her comb. She turned out just to be a very LARGE hen!!
I say roo...I am going on the large, red comb and wattles on a 12 week old bird. Of course, genetics could play a roll and if the mom was an early bloomer, so could this one be. But, I also think I see the start of pointy hackle feathers and a few saddles feathers starting.
