Please help idk what to do thanks

I have a 2 Broody hens that’s have been laying on eggs. They both went Broody the same day and will hatch on the same day. Well, the Mixed Cochin has fertile eggs and will be a great mother. This is her first time. The silkie on the other hand doesn’t have fertile eggs. Yeh question I was wondering was. Even, if she is a week old Broody hen can I still put Day old chicks under her to keep her from staying broody. I feel bad when she can’t hatch chicks. She already hatched chicks before but I was just wondering.

Personally, I would wait until she has sat a little longer to pop chicks under her if she's only been setting for a week. Silkies are generally very motherly, some even when they aren't setting, but better safe than sorry IMO. How many eggs is your Cochin on? Could you split that clutch between the two?

The Cochin won’t let me touch her and I don’t wanna stress her out a lot because I don’t want her to get off the eggs. Since, it’s her first time. The Cochin is on about 5-6 eggs. I only see them when she gets off. That’s only about 1 every 2 days. She is very Broody. I never had a Broody hen like her ever. All the Broody hens love being petted and love me touching them. Which is unusual to me, but this Cochin didn’t really like me before because I never played with her when she was little because she always ran away.
