Please help Maine Mom identify chickie babies #3

If you could please help us that would be greatly appreciated. This is Raven and she(?)is about 5 weeks old now. She(?) is jet black with a couple of white feathers hiding underneath. It is difficult to see the pictures but she(?) does have some feathers growing out of the sides of her legs. I would like to know the breed and sex. Thank-you.Tamara

These pictures of 1 chick right? I'm not sure on breed but I would say she is a pullet.

If she has feathers on her legs, then she's probably a Black Langshan or Black Australorp mix, pullet.

Or, she could be a Marans (or possibly a poor quality Black Cochin).

My husband just told me that when he got this bird at a chicken swap the seller told him it would lay black eggs. So after research I have come to conclude it's probably a Maran's since the French version has feathered legs and some can be mostly black and they do lay very dark chocolate colored eggs. I'll keep you posted.

UPDATE:She is looking more like a Black Copper Marans. It will be interesting to see what her eggs will look like.
