I got 2 ducks from TSC at the beginning of March. The sign said Rouen. Can anyone tell if they are male or female? I haven't noticed any green on their heads at all, they look exactly the same! Then again I have never had them before so ?

in the last pic,the one that's close up has more black around its beak

Both have enough orange on the bill to suggest they are ducks. Have you heard them quack?

Yes but not sure if they are both doing it or just one

Easiest way to check is catch them and see who is quacking.

I've heard that the male rouen and mallard's beaks turn light and the females stay dark. If you look at pictures of the adults, that seems to hold true. Also, my female pekin duck was very loud and the male was quiet. And the males tail feathers were more ornate, as in curled, than the female. But im not sure if that the same for rouen ducks. Mine are only 2 weeks old so they havent changed much yet. Although, two of them have beaks that are getting much lighter than the other. So far it looks as if you have two males. Search for distinguishing marks for their age on Google and maybe that will help.

I know at least one is female because I hear quaking , Will catch them and see but they are usually quiet when I pick them up . As a matter of fact I hear them quacking right now and im inside.

I would say with about 99% certainty that you have two girls. In the pic below, mine aren't quite as old as yours (about 8 weeks vs your ~10 week olds), and you can tell the one in the middle is a boy already; his bill is much more greenish-yellow, and the girls' bills are still very orange.

Less than 3 weeks later he looked like this:

Already starting to get gray on his body and chestnut-colored chest feather, and that little gleam of bright green eyeliner, lol. :) Kind of looks like he has a mohawk here too. Must've been his rebellious teenage period.

So anyway...congratulations - you have girly-ducks!

Thank you all so much! My neighbor down the road got some also but theirs are younger than mine, hopefully they have a drake they would give me,hard to find ducks in my area. And yes mine have very yellow/orange bills, never thought about that meaning anything

Haha yeah they are so loud and I spoil them and the chickens but they can have food/water and treats and still be so loud, they know I'll let them out. And they fly pretty high sometimes. I would have liked to had 3 incase something happened to 1 the other wouldn't be alone,I went back for silkies and they had yellow ducks which im assuming were pekin. I took an injured one that was being trampled but he didn't make it through the night .
