So I candled this morning on day 19 because I got home really late last night and was unable to candle on day 18. I think this chick is upside down in the egg because I'm almost positive I see a foot in the air cell. The picture is not that great but it looked more like a foot 10 minutes before I took this picture. What do you think? If it is malpositioned, what are it's chances of hatching successfully? Is there anything I can do? Please help.

I don't know much about malposition. But I was always told to wait at least 24 hours after internal pip to interveine.

What happened? That looks like an internal pip, hard to do with a soft webby foot? Hoping it was a beak and it came out ok.

I had a malpostitioned chick a few weeks ago, he did not break through the air bubble but was chirping a lot and I was very confused. I only knew he was malpositioned when he pipped at the wrong end the next day. All I did was make the pip bigger so he could properly breath, then the next day he zipped and hatched fine. Can you hear and peeping? If you are still on day 19 you should leave him until at least day 21 before worrying or assisting. I hope he hatches soon :)
