Please Help Me Decide What Breed My 4th chick should be.

If only I could get three: Barnvelder, Partridge Rock, and Easter Egger, but that may result in a divorce.

Hey that chicken math is real!

Thanks everyone for your input. Sounds like I can't go wrong with any of those breads.

It looks like you have eliminated the Silver Laced Wyandotte. Now you are down to three.

I suggest the Partridge Plymouth Rock. That is the best egg-layer of those three, and it is a generally friendly breed.

My thought process is I have 2 black and white already (BR) and I live the colors of Partridge Rock and Baenvelder but I also want tip add color to my egg basket. Talked to a guy today who only has Partridge Rock chicks. He does have a full grown EE that has started laying. Is $20 too much to pay for a full grown EE and will she integrate with my with my 3 others who are 3 months old?

I think $20 for a young hen is okay. I see on Craigslist that you can find young laying hens for $15 each.

The 3-month-olds may not be ready to be put in with a full-grown hen. Most breeds start laying at about 5 months old, so that is when they are fully developed. Can you just keep the "Easter Egger" hen separated for a little while?

Can you buy a Partridge Plymouth Rock pullet from that guy also?

I know, I know. You may not have room for another one.

We were working on the coop again tonight. All three are sleeping together in one brooder box.

. I thought about keeping the new adult seperate for a little while but I thought the triplets (that's what we call them because they are so bond to eachother) would out number the adult and even things out. I know it would be ideal to find a pullet the same age.
