Please help me identify breed and sex

He is handsome. I am not sure what he is but I don't think that EE's are considered "rare" so my guess would be something else. I know that doesn't help you any so hopefully somebody will soon. lol

What sort of comb does that chick have, in the one picture it looks like a buttercup comb???

Thanks Shannondee. Kelsie 2290 that is what I thought too. It appears to split in the middle. I have never seen one before in person so I googled it. Will be easier to tell in a week but I think that is what it is.

That is interesting, they are usually smallish chickens, guess you got a super sized one... interesting breed to get as your mystery chicken for sure.

Yeah, I read that they were smallish which didn't fit but the comb did. I guess only time will reveal. I keep thinking he is some kind of cross but cant imagine a hatchery doing that.

It's not Araucana or Ameraucana. It isn't displaying any of those breed traits. It's highly unlikely it's an Easter Egger either since it's not showing any of the usual EE traits either. If it is a pullet and lays a bluish egg it's an Easter Egger. Here is a link explaining the difference between Araucana's, Ameraucanas and Easter Eggers. http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2011/09/ameraucana-easter-egger-or-araucana.html
The bird in question is a Large Fowl breed. Keep in mind that Jersey Giants are a heritage breed and very slow growing. You can't use them to compare sizes with faster growing large fowl chicks. Even though your JG's are smaller than the rest of your large fowl chicks, they will probably pass them up in size in 7 or 8 months, if not earlier. Hope this helped.

Updated photo of Baby Huey at 7 weeks. He is very calm and sweet. Looks like his comb is coming in single. Still no idea what he is. He is still big as ever. You can see him in the photo next to a Wyandotte that is a few weeks older than he is. He is very clumsy and steps on his own feet because they are so big (they are yellow legs and feet). He is also very tall.

. I would love to know what this breed is. I have pretty much ruled out EE for sure.

Not displaying any EE traits so most likely something else. Not sure what..lol Sorry.

Maybe a Production Red or Red Sex Link Pullet?

Not to go against the grain, but I don't think it is a cockerel. I know that Baby Huey is very large, but it doesn't have any rooster looking colors to its feathers. The comb is still quite small and has not started turning red. It is also most definitely not any sort of Americauna/Easter Egger. Considering it's size the Pioneer seems like a good guess.
