PLEASE HELP ME! She's wheezing, her crop looks weird and her breath is horrible!! Will I loose my fa

The crop should be on the right side of her breast and not on the left side. Just feathers on the left. :)

Sounds like she became impacted and kept eating and it was coming up the pipe, she was shaking it all over herself and stuck to her beak, some might have been inhaled, hence the wheezing.

Keep up with the water, as much water as you can get into her each hour. Keep massaging and no food today.

Crops really need to be checked in the mornings only, unless you know a bird has a problem, because they can be full and funky all day long. So once we get this cleared up, keep feeling her crop each morning for a while. Never hurts to check the entire flock. I check all my birds crop each morning every day. (I have a hen that is prone to slow and sour crops. So since I check hers, everybody gets their crops fondled each morning. )

Ok thanks!;) I just gave her a little more water. She just drinks the little drops do she isn't getting much. She is sound asleep now. So you have a hen who gets this too?

Is it normal for her throat to feel kind of stiff and for her feathers on her chin to be really pointy?

Does it feel like there is food from the crop up to the chin?

I have a hen that is prone to slow and sour crops. She has never been impacted, although I have had others with impactions. The hen with the crop issues has a very delicate digestive system. Can't feed her anything sweet, no free ranging, and she is sensitive to bagged feed. I was making my own feed for a while, but I finally found a feed that doesn't bother her as much. So far she is doing well. But she suffered with slow and sour crops for the first 2 years of her life.

Get as much water into her as you can, even if you have to do 2 syringes an hour. The more water, the faster the ball will break down. Do you have any dulcolax gel caps at your house? This is a stool softener. This ingredient is what is in "Crop Bound" capsules. If you do, you can open one and squeeze the contents into the syringe and fill with water. Get all this in her and continue to give her lots of water all day. You can give her another tablet in the syringe before bed tonight. These things will help break down the impaction in the crop and any other impactions further on down the tract.

But give her as much water as you can and keep up with the massages.

I don't think we have any of those caps but I can look.

She just won't open her beak to drink so she just get drops, do you have any other ideas on how to keep her drinking?

She still is lifeless and sleepy. She was gurgling and holding her beak open earlier. But about 20 minutes ago she was perky and trying to get out of her cage. Oh, Im not as worried but I'm still confused. :/

You have to use your thumb and middle finger and stick these in the corners of her beak and gently squeeze and pry it open. Sort of use your finger nails. You should be able to get her beak open. You can also pull down on the wattles and they will usually open the beak.

Tube feeding her water is an option, but you probably don't have any of the equipment to do this, so will will stick with the syringe. See if you can get some one to help you open her beak.

Ok, so I've been giving her water with canola oil which I read was very good for impacted crops. That's now what I think she has. I no longer think she has sour crop as she ins't experiencing the same symptoms as it calls for. Her bulge is still small and ringish. She still has the redness around her mouth and she is a little more perky. She poops once every hour or so and the poops look normal. I brought Rosie, the other pullet, in and they slept for a whole 50 minutes. I read that grit can help. Is this worth trying Two Crows?

I'm not sure about the Grit, Might want to do some research! and you might find out if what your chicken has isn't contagious! otherwise you'll have two sick chickens!

So, we weren't able to find Duramycin so that won't work. But, my dad said he found something for chickens' digestive systems. So, once he gets here I'll post it and ask about it before giving it to her. Any ideas on the whole grit thing?
