Please help me w/ this cat.

If he goes outside in the summer, maybe you could find out where he goes, and use that in the litter box if possible, like if it is sand, or sandy soil, something that won't be to messy.
And be sure to keep those boxes clean, cats a very clean animals and they like a clean toilet. I clean mine 2 to 3 times a day.
Good Luck!

My sister's cat always walks into the litter box and just goes......generally right over the edge back outside. The only way around this was to use a large rubbermaid tub with no lid...so he would have to jump down into it. Then he is either outside or inside, there is no inbetween. He will jump in and then back up the edge to pee.....he is trying to mark the "wall"....which works if the wall is tall enough. If not tall enough, it just goes straight out of the litterbox.

If he is the only cat, you can also scrape the litter perfectly flat with the scooper. Then you can see if he is actually going into the box or just walking up next to it....whether there is any foot prints in there or not. I use that for my cat with urinary problems, so I know whether an empty box is because he doesn't need to go, or because he has been in there trying and nothing will come out.
