First of all I would like to say thanks to the Back Yard Community. I am new to the site, at-least as a member. I have visited it numerous times looking at the chicken coop gallery for ideas. I will post pics as soon as completed.

Trying to Identify this Rooster in order to find him a good home.

Purchased 6 chicks from a local farmer, all supposed to be hens, just days old.

OOPS! This one just started crowing at 5 months. City Ordinances do not allow roosters.

Would trade for a hen of same age, he is beautiful. Came solid black with one white spot. Supposed to be black like the other one, bought as pair(the black one in the second picture). This one looks more like a Plymouth Rock Barred, but has feathers on legs/feet and like pin-feathers off back of head.

Any help is appreciated, Thanks in advance.

He looks to me like a cross breed.

Cream Legbars have much different barring, do not have feathers on their legs, and do not have a beard or muffs

I agree.

Its just that I can remember seeing a breed or hybrid that looked just like the posted bird and I can't remember the name! It is so frustrating! I keep trying to search it and can't remember!

The same thing happens to me!

Agree he's a mix. Olive eggers are so popular now someone could have been playing with Legbar, Ameraucana/EE and cuckoo Marans--who knows.

How bout a pic of the hen that came with him? Is it that dark bird behind him in the second pic? I'm not positive that's a hen
