ok, background on the hen. shes at least 4 or five years old,, at LEAST.
she came from a really bad home before,, it was on pure dirt and was fed ONLY goat food. (she was kept with goats).
I have had her for two and a half years.
i posted a comment about her about a week ago. i thought she was egg bound.
i was trying to be proactive and catch it before it was serious.. but nobody thought she was egg bound... but she got worse..
ok, the very first thing i noticed was that i found her in the nest that she lays in, but hadnt been getting any eggs.. the first three days i didnt think much about it , then after the fourth day of seeing her in the nest and no egg i got worried and thought she was egg bound.. her butt never looked weird or any different.. just alot of dried poop around her butt. i never felt a egg, i did the putting her in the warm water bucket, putting my fingers up her,, every thing,,, never felt an egg... (after a week and a half her "butt" doesnt look any different). also, everyone said on here that since she was running around the yard like normal and eating alot,, she prob was ok... (she was looking thinner to me)
so then,, i just left her alone and put her back out with the other chickens. after a couple of days i noticed she wasnt eating, not even scrambled eggs, which are her favorite.. so i dewormed her with some expensive panacure.. deworms for all but tapes.
now, i dont know if she had diarrhea before i dewormed her or after,, but i noticed definatly after, because i put her in a seperate pen to drench her and feed her..
wow!! really really bad diarrhea!! its awful.
shes drinking some on her own, but in texas we have been over three digits ,, around 102 or more.. and so ive been drenching her too.. and feeding her scrambled eggs..
whats wrong with my hen, and what eles can i do?
her name is cheetah and she is a golden polish.
the first chicken i ever owned.. and now im up to 30
please help
