I think he looks more like a turkey than a chicken. Just wash him off with a wash cloth and warm water and let him dry. You will be tell what he is once dry and clean.

I had an alien chick hatch this week, same story.. membrane, yolk and all. A few days later, he's starting to look less alien. Keep us updated with pictures!

I've read that if the humidity is too high, you get very large chicks, too large to hatch even. Maybe that's it? Did you open the incubator on the last three days? Nevertheless, keep us updated!

Yes, I did everything wrong. I thought my humidity was too low... but maybe it was the opposite??

It was a cream/light brown egg. He is looking more chick like. Poor little thing. All alone in the brooder.

You do not have a freak of nature the humidity was off. My guess is too high (and maybe incubator got opened during last 2 days). I know because I've done it myself
