Hi please help me with my baby chick i got 2 baby chicks as a Birthday present and one of them is acting different shes not happy and full of life like she was. she has been pooping what seems to me as cecal poop. My baby chicks are indoor pets but I take them outside regularly while supervising them. She seems sad and her feathers are dropping she has mucus in her mouth shes eating and drinking very little. I have been giving them water with electrolytes and probiotics. What can I do to help her please help thank you.

Are they under a heat lamp that is about 95 F degrees? I've had this happen to a baby chick and a turkey poult before. Once I saw the fluid coming out of the mouth they were dead by the end of the day, sorry to say.

I think all you can do now is make sure the chick is comfortable and warm and it may need to be isolated from the other chick so that the other chick doesn't get whatever it has if it is contagious. The other chick will be lonely so you may want to get another friend for it from the feed store or online.

Corn is no good for chicks . they need a high protein food Like chick starter.
And the heat is also very important for new ones. there are many good threads here about raising baby chicks. A little research and you can find out anything you want to know.
I had a problem with heat on some Quail and I gave up on 2 but after I put them under a heat lamp at exactly 100 % They came back! lay a thermometer on the floor of pen were chicks are and adjust light up or down to were floor temp is perfect.

Your problem is likely nutritional. Young chicks grow very rapidly, and need a well balanced diet to support their growth rate. Corn has some nutritional value, but it is lacking in protein and many essential vitamins and minerals. Get them on a medicated chick starter ASAP.

How old are they?
Ad pictures Of her beak and face and any other disorder you see.
