Last week one of my hens was attacked by a racoon! I was able to save her but other than a few feathers gone i thought she was fine. I when out today (about 8 days after she was attacked) and picked her up and on her back between her shoulders there is alot of meet gone. Its all black (like rotten) you can see some bones and maggots! What can i do to help her? Can I put medicine on her? I dont know what to do for her so please help. Thanks so much for the help.

You will need to take some photos of the damaged area so that we can see just how large the area is and how deep the necrotic tissue is in relation to any healthy tissue around the area. Unfortunately it sounds like your bird has a massive infection going on due to bacteria introduced through the attack -- even when damage appears superficial, there is potential for puncture wounds and with a mouth full of bacteria such as a racoon has, it only takes a small puncture to get that bacteria into your bird, where it sits and festers. The appropriate treatment and likely outcome will depend on the severity of the damage -- while home treatment may be possible, as it sounds like you are rather inexperienced with such treatment I would suggest finding an avian vet to have her accessed and work on her treatment under their guidance.
