Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok. So I took him out of the incubator, rubbed melted coconut oil all over the membrane. It made it much clearer, and it didn't look like there were veins. I peeled back about 1 millimeter of the membrane around his pip. There was some gel-like stuff right under it, and after a few seconds there was a tiny bit of blood. I put some cornstarch around the blood. He peeped the whole time. He's back in the incubator. Will he make it? what do I do?

I just checked on him and there definitely is some blood. You can see it through the membrane. He is breathing pretty hard, not peeping anymore. I didn't hurt him, did I?

I would honestly leave it alone. I think it’s fine. I had a chick in my last batch that was one of the first to pip but he was one of the ones to hatch last with no assistance.

I checked again, and no more blood. His beak is moving around. There is yellow stuff under the membrane around his pip. Is it just dried membrane or is it a ruptured yolk? How long until I should try again?

Even if he's bleeding a little, he'll be ok?

The best would have been not to have helped at all. I would just sit on your hands and try not to worry yourself to death. I think the best you can do right now is to just let it be. A little bit of blood won’t hurt it, just let it rest and they’ll push through. 😊

i really think he's malpositioned. I have had many hatches, and 2 helpouts, and this case reminds me of the other two who wee stuck. The way he's struggling without progress really makes me think he can't get out.

I would probably leave it alone now at minimum several hours or even over night since there was still some blood.

If you can still see its beak then the chick is fine, it can breathe. If the beak disappears then I would say go ahead and slowly help it. But I really think you need to give it at least 24-48 hours to hatch on its own.

The beak is about 1/2 centimeter away from the pip in the membrane. I can see it under the membrane though. Should I make a hole over the beak?
