They recommend Sevin, a garden dust. I do know that Pyrethrin/permethrin dusts and sprays will work. They are sold as poultry dust, flea and tick spray, and poultry spray, under a variety of brand names. As for DE, it may kill some, but it works by far the best on soft bodied insects. I have read of cases of chickens being infested with lice and/or mites, who were regularly treated with DE.
