ok i have hatched 11 baby quail 5 bobwhites and 6 mexican speckleds i have lost three mexican speckled already and i dont know why my other three look like they are very bloated they are six days old and their bellys pretty much touch the growned before they were very active and now they look lazy and fat. and my bobwhites keep picking on one they kept pecking at his butt and now its bleeding does anyone now what i can do?

It could be from some blockage in the intestine, like bedding of some sort that they ate. Possibly an infection at the navel that never healed over. Sometimes improper humidity levels and or temps in the incubator can cause navels to not heal right and get infected. Also if you have used this incubator before, it needs to be disinfected before each hatch as bacteria breed out of control in a warm moist environment and chicks will be born with infections.

You could try antibiotics in the water. If you have some Duramycin around it might work, although it might be too late to save the bloated chicks. If it is some sort of blockage, then you will have to wait it out at this point.

So sorry you are having troubles.

Remove the baby.....
they will only keep picking on it till it's death...?
Maybe put a dab of neosporin on the area that's bleeding... for infection..
and then get some corn starch and dab that on the area to help stop bleeding...
