The bill color won't change for awhile duckling is sitll juvenile.. ( spelling??)
I'll have to go back and look at pictues of Fred and Louise to see .. but am thinking it was the following year. to maybe 6 months before billl changed color. I noticed that the wild ones that came to visit's bills were always brighter ... but that could of been genectics.. Fred was a female and so was Louise.. We got a kick out of the male that came to visit everyday last summer till fall and then after Fred and LOUise molted they took off within a week of each other.. not sure which of them paired up with the male.. He would visit both of them..
