please help my ducks are being aggressive

so my three ducks are being assholes to my chickens. they keep plucking their feathers out! this morning i went out there and one of the chickens was in the duck area. they have a way to get back up but she is about to have eggs and doesn’t like to move much. but i went to check on her and she had half of her feathers plucked out!! she is bleeding and i don’t know what to do for her. i was thinking of putting aquaphor on her but i didn’t know if i could do that. if not what else should i do to help her heal? i will also block off the chicken and duck area so they can stay away from each other. but the ducks even do it when they are in the run outside! it’s a big area so there is plenty of room. does anyone have any experience with this? how can i get my ducks to stop? two drakes and one female. it’s mostly the two drakes. she just nips at them if they come close to her

If you don't have Veterycin spray, you could put Neosporin on any wounds (just make sure its the kind that has NO pain medication in it).

To the OP, do your chickens and ducks share a coop? While I have ducks, geese, and chickens that share orchard, creek, and pasture space, they do have their own coops. Ducks and nice dry coops don't exactly mix. The ducks shouldn't be allowed into the chicken coop, at least that's how i roll.
Oh, I am also in favor of getting rid of one of those drakes. I once had 16 duck hens, and 2 drakes. They killed a hen fighting over her, so the worst one lost his head. I absolutely don't tolerate drakes like that any more. My hens are of much higher value to me.

My Runners an Muscovy and chickens share a large coop never have had any problems. Not all drakes are a problem and it’s sad we lump them up that way. I have never had an aggressive drake I have 3 now 1 Muscovy 2 Indian Runners they keep to their own females. My ducks are actually very respectful of the oldest rooster we have and only problem with the hens is my Muscovy drake who will pull out feathers if a hen gets to close. They pretty much live together eat together and all get along. My geese have their own house

Maybe by fall! Just really depends on the drakes getting more female ducks will help drakes need at least min of 3 females each. I have drakes and females in with my chickens and only my Muscovy is a butt and thats only if a hen get too close to his space then he’ll grab feathers. You really need more female ducks so they don’t over mate you one female and leave your chickens alone

if i get another female duck and it’s a little one, will they hurt her? my drakes aren’t fully grown maybe 2-3 months old. also if i get another ducking, how do i tell if it’s a boy or a girl? the people at the store never know when they are that young

Two drakes is one drake too many. It is very likely that the drakes are trying to breed the chicken hens which is an accident waiting to happen. Drakes have penises - roosters do not. Drakes breeding chicken hens can injure/kill them. For the safety of your chicken hens, it is essential to keep them separate from the drakes.

I’d look for female ducklings around the same age or older than yours. Try craigslist or your state thread here on BYC where am I where are you.

does anyone know if drakes are able to live outside of the coop/run? so they have a huge area to rome around. we have 8 acres of land with a river in the back yard. if i set the drakes go, will they stick around? or will the get eaten by predators? they are probably 3 months and have about half of their feathers. i feel if i can’t give them away, that will be my only option. i don’t want to kill them.

They probably won’t last long at all outside. Way to many predators love duck. Some on here though make drake jail @onaharley being one @DuckyDonna another. If you want to keep them that’s your best option.
