please help! my ducks are sick

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give some advice or has heard of this. I have a large, male pekin duck who has a swollen neck and chest. He isn't holding his head up and barely eating. He is drinking water. He has a bulge on his crop area that is black. He is lethargic and just not acting himself! We just noticed this morning that our other male pekin has the same black bulge on his crop area but he is acting completely normal! I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Welcome to BYC. Is his neck stuck down making his chest look more prominent? How does the crop feel—full, soft, hard, or empty? Does there feel like air under the skin?

It sounds a bit like wry neck, a very full crop, or possibly a leaking air sac under the skin. Pictures can help a lot.

I wish I cold download a picture! yes his neck is always down like he can't or doesn't want to extend it. He is very puffy around his chest and neck. The crop ( I think that's below his chest? has a sore on it and feathers are rubbed off. I have been putting colloidal silver gel on his chest where the sore is and it seems to be reducing the swelling and looking better. I'm wondering if he has mites! the missing feathers and sore is only on the crop area though. Now my other drake has the same spot on the chest crop area where the feathers are rubbed off and like a black spot it! I'm wondering if it's really like dried blood or something. He is totally fine in every other way though eating a lot and very active and his neck is not puffy. I have been giving my sick drake poultry rx everynight and hand feeding him soft fruit and veggies and he seems better. He has more energy and isn't laying his head down all the time like he was. Thanks for the response . I'm just going to keep on trying to heal him and hope he gets better. My two female ducks are just fine and I hope it stays that way!
