The other day I saw my young and only gander limping.

Today I got a chance to hold him and noticed that the webbing on one of his feet is ripped all the way down one toe and there is a puncture wound on it's belly. None of it is bleeding, but is the anything I can do to help him???

How can I find or catch the turtle? It musut be big if it did this. Anyway... I put some, actually a bunch of neosporin on the wounds the other day and it is using its foot now and doesnt act like its in pain. So I guess it's doing better!

I know I've read around these forums somewhere how to catch turtles and the recipes to cook them after they are caught. I'd head over to the predator forums and ask around there. You do want to catch it.

This
site offers a 30 inch hoop net for turtle catching. I bought it 2 years ago to protect my ducks from snapping turtles. It works pretty well baited with small pieces of white fish like tilapia. I keep a bag of small pieces frozen to always be ready. I wrap them in pieces of cheese cloth (sold in grocery stores) and tie them tightly in the trap. I have caught up to 8 snappers a summer with the thing!

Good luck!

MAN snappers are messed up...

Happy your goosey guy didn't get eaten by the turtle. :hmm

Be careful that you don't go anywhere near the turtle's front end at all; they can remove fingers. And their head can turn stinkin' fast!

Im so sorry! Irescued a 10 y/o duck who had been attacked by a turtle and it ate all the webbing off od one foot. im glad to here your gander is doing better, Keep us update!

He is doing way better now! HE acts the same as before but has a slit in his webbing but that doesnt stop him! His bite on his belly completely healed too!
